This is an overview of our current projects, for which we always need support in the form of donations.

Kitengela School

In 2022, we assumed financial responsibility for an elementary school in Kitengela (Kenya). The school teaches 170 children from the slums of Nonkoopir. The children there not only receive an education, but in many cases also their only meal of the day.

Fight against FGM

Together with Agnes Gitonga, we regularly visit two schools in very remote Maasai villages to convince the population of the problem of female genital mutilation and to protect girls from this traumatic event. We support girls in their education in order to provide role models for other girls and their families and to show them alternatives. We also carry out education and awareness-raising campaigns on the ground. In this context, we are looking for sponsors for our girls.

Vocational training at the Nasaru Learning Center Iloshon

We have built a learning center for Maasai girls in the community of Iloshon. There are currently 45 girls living there during school time. During their time off, the girls have the opportunity to learn tailoring. We finance a seamstress and the teaching materials so that the girls and interested mothers can learn a trade.

There are also plans to set up a hairdressing salon so that training as a barber/hairstylist can be offered.

School libraries

There is no library in the three schools we look after. We are looking for a solution in the form of digital and analog books so that we can offer the children a wider range of reading material. At the moment, some of the pupils even share the textbooks among themselves.

Period poverty

Many girls are unable to attend school once a month for several days as they do not have the financial means to buy sanitary towels. We are looking for affordable and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional sanitary towels. Our vision is to create a local company in Kenya that can produce environmentally friendly sanitary pads at a reasonable price.

Helping people to help themselves: Femmes des riziรจres

With the Femmes des riziรจres project, we produce a range of lifestyle products that aim to impress with their high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. In doing so, we create fairly paid jobs for young women in Cambodia.
